Clinical Management

The IHN Suite Clinical Management module is a complete Resident Care System (RCS).

RCS automates your entire assessment, care planning and quality assurance process and offers comprehensive reporting capabilities.

Primary features of RCS include:

  • Clinical Documentation
  • Resident Assessments
    • OBRA and PPS Schedulers
    • Electronic MDS Submission
  • Care Plans
  • Physician’s Orders
  • Reporting

Resident Assessments

Resident Assessments include both the required MDS Assessments as well as optional Supplemental Assessments for the Nursing, Social Services, Activities and Dietary departments. After entering assessment information into RCS, many reports, including an Initial Care Plan, can be automatically viewed on screen or printed without additional data entry.

Care Plans

RCS allows for flexibility in the care planning process. Since the assessment and care plan modules are linked, an Initial Care Plan can be produced upon admission, within 24 hours after admission or later, based upon your nursing center’s policies. Upon completion of all assessment items, RCS produces a facility designed resident specific Initial Care Plan. No additional data entry, no codes to memorize. After holding your care plan conference and modifying the Initial Care Plan to appropriately address the resident’s needs, a Comprehensive Care Plan is generated. Integrated in care plans, Flow Sheets can be automatically produced in order to document resident care.

Physician’s Orders

RCS Physician’s Orders are essentially a master plan that describes the nursing treatments and medical care to be provided to the resident during the upcoming 30-31 day charting period. At specified intervals, according to your nursing center’s policy, orders are entered into RCS. The system stores the information and uses it to generate physician order forms and medication and treatment records.
